Site Supervision:

Arboricultural Supervision involves having a qualified arboriculturist present on-site during specific stages of a construction project to ensure that tree protection measures are properly implemented.

Key Elements:

Supervised Excavations: For any work within or near RPAs, the arboriculturist supervises ground excavation to prevent root damage, often using hand tools or air spades to expose and protect roots.

Protective Fencing Monitoring: Ensures that tree protection barriers (as outlined in the AMS) are correctly installed, maintained, and remain undisturbed throughout the project.

Compliance Checks: The arboriculturist monitors all activities affecting trees, ensuring they adhere to the approved Arboricultural Method Statement, which may involve periodic site visits.

Reporting and Communication: Provides detailed reports or verbal updates to the site manager, planning authorities, or project stakeholders to address any issues that arise during groundworks.

Mitigation Advice: Offers immediate advice if tree roots or structures are unexpectedly exposed or damaged, ensuring rapid adjustments to construction practices to protect tree health.
